The Bride's Choice Date: September 3,2006 Regardless of the size, complexity or needs of your wedding, reception or event - Kim McIlwaine, owner of The Bride's Choice, is a necessary part of your wedding success. Kim is a caring and thoughtful professional with years of experience in "all things bridal". From shoes, dresses and the perfect necklace... to flowers, party favors, honeymoon plans and the final touches - The Bride's Choice can manage it all both beautifully and cost effectively. My husband and I were married in August 2006 in a small wedding of 50 family and friends. The day I told my fiance that I had talked with Kim, his initial response was "Why do we need a wedding planner? This is a small wedding, we can do it." I am so grateful that we did not "do it". During the approach toward the wedding, complications arose when the manager of the reception venue was struck critically ill. Kim professionally assessed the situation and determined the amount of oversight that she would need to provide to ensure the venue would be prepared properly for the reception. This is just one in a series of details that she followed to completion - including "saving the day for cake cutting" when the caterer arrived without a cake serving set. Since I live out of the area, Kim was left to choose flowers, reception layout, cake layout and arrange the ceremony location in a manner that she felt would best meet my needs. She did this via e-mails and phone conversations, minimizing my trips to the area to accommodate my busy schedule. I could not have been more pleased with the arrangements Kim made in support of our wedding. Weare still receiving complements trom the wedding guests on the rustic elegance of the wedding (including the men!). This is a direct complement to Kim's vision and capability to deliver your dreams. During the ceremony and reception, Kim was there to take care of all the immediate details - the wedding license, the minister, the party favors, moving the wedding guest from pre-wedding activities to the ceremony. She was continuously assessing the needs of our guests, the pace of the caterers, the timing of the reception and adjusting to meet our wishes and our guests needs. She ensured that our reception continued to progress to cake cutting and toasting, but at a pace acceptable to us. I highly recommend Kim's expertise as a professional wedding director and a highly effective yet non-intrusive reception coordinator. The evening of the wedding, my new husband an I were riding to our home in a limo Kim had arranged, we talked about the ceremony and the reception. He told me that he was thankful that I had gotten a wedding planner to support our event and he was more thankful that the planner was Kim. Over the next few weeks, our family and friends echoed my husbands words over and over - how special Kim had made the venue, what a great job she did, how professional she was. In hindsight, there is only one thing that I would have done differently - I would have seen Kim first and made all arrangements including the venue and caterer through The Bride's Choice. I have managed a number oflarge projects in my professional career, and I have planned and directed weddings for a few of my friends. However, I have never succeeded in that special blend of professionalism, and caring thoughtfulness that Kim Mcllwaine brings to each event she supports. You will feel as though she is meeting your every need - sometimes before you even ask. She is markedly calm and tranquil in a sea of excitement. She will make you feel as though you are the only person in the room and she is listening patiently and closely to support your requests and offer suggestions and solutions. We whole heartedly endorse The Bride's Choice and Kim Mcllwaine for your wedding planning, honeymoon planning and event planning needs. If we had a question, she had the answer. She gave suggestions and incorporated our ideas to make Tori and David’s wedding day everything that Tori had always dreamed of.
